When they approached us to design the first addition to their iconic ink packaging for 40 years we jumped at the chance!
A new diamond ink had been formulated to mark the anniversary of the original packs and to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The original packs had largely used the individual colours as a cue for the illustrations, but as diamonds have no colour we had to think a little differently. Our solution was to take the illustrations found on playing cards as our inspiration, then devise our very own Queen of Diamonds. Subtle areas of foil blocking on the pack add to the effect and allude to the irridescence seen in actual diamonds.
Demand for the limited edition packs was high and they sold out in record time.
