Jellyfishtree is an international, online marketplace for collectable books.
We were commissioned to create a brand for the business that stood out from the competition. The remit included, naming, identity and website designs.
We thought the idea of rarity summed up the business well and used that as a starting point in our search for a name. We found out that the Jellyfish tree, which is endemic to the island of Mahé, in the Seychelles, is one of the rarest trees in the world. We thought that would be a great name for the business.
The identity combined the look of the tree with that of a jellyfish to create a unique and distinctive logo.
The website turned the page into a book thereby placing the very premise of the business at the heart of the visual language.
